/now
A page that says what I am working on, reading, listening to, and thinking about. Updated when reality changes, not on a schedule.
This is a /now page, in the small honest sense Derek Sivers proposed: one place per person that says, in plain prose, what they are doing right now. The directory has a few thousand entries. It is the kind of internet I would like to keep alive. Last touched 2026-05-06.
building
- tape v0.2 -- shipped time.sleep, json output, the .tape language frontend
- drift v0.19 -- the new pre-commit hook command, plus quiet polish
- anchor v0.1 -- the local LLM proxy and budget tracker, getting it ready for a proper readme
- frkhd.com itself, the rebrand you are reading right now
reading
- remarque, "три товарища" -- a third pass, slow this time
- oliver burkeman, "four thousand weeks"
- nist sp 800-227 (kem schemes, public draft)
listening to
- lord huron, mostly the slower albums
- ludovico einaudi when i need to think with my hands
- long stretches of background quiet, which counts
thinking about
- why dev tools rarely launch on hacker news cold (the median outcome is two votes; not a signal about the tool)
- whether to keep starting new repos or focus on drift and tape for the next twelve months
- how to write a blog post that travels without it being a launch post
eating
- too much coffee, mostly v60 in the morning
- a lot of bread, which zürich does very well
not doing
- starting new public github repositories for the next ninety days
- show hn launches on impulse
- replying to recruiters from companies whose product i would not use
If you would like to add a /now page to your own site, the original idea is at nownownow.com/about. The directory itself is at nownownow.com. There is no fee, no signup, and no algorithm watching what you write -- which is most of why it is good.
